To many fun/naughty ideas come from this, Why would they put this on Youtube.
I wonder how many of these parked empty cop cars are actually like this. I had no Idea, see them all the time. My city has a car they park all over empty all the time. I guess I will have to look at it closer and see if it is the same thing.
Now be good with this info, I don't want to see pictures of how many of you have them in your garage after this.

I think it has no engine, and is supposed to be a decoy kind of thing.

Says there is no engine, and uses solar to run it.

Maybe I'm too dense but how is that easier than driving it there and dropping it off? Rather than investing money specialising it to be towable how about keeping an old cruiser around and parking it where you need it? I would imagine an F 250 towing a cop car would use as much if not more gas than a cop car and a regular civilian car meeting at said location.. Not like they would have to pay cops to drop it off as I have seen retired cop cars that look close enough driven around by civilians and also have seen automotive repair shops taking the cars for test drives after repairs. Maybe I'm missing something.

I wonder if the "car" is made out of Fiberglas or some such?

I just saw that it's possibly a "hollowed-out" car with no motor but that means it's some sort of special build still seems like it a hard sell to be any real cost reduction.

Yea that's what I presumed, they drove them and dropped them off. I know most of these usually go back to the company that sets them up here. So maybe they go back rip out the parts and lease them on the cheap but who know's. Our government loves to waste money.
This was more like a WTF moment.

yes fiberglass, 1000lbs and the windows are painted. I just did presume it was a gutted car. oh my looks like they are no existent company now.

So someone presented the gov with a more expensive process that gave them shinny new toys and they said no? I call shenanigans:)
